Development Story

The development journey of Bidasar began nearly 500 years ago. In VS 1495, Thakur Sahib Shri Bida Ji conquered Dhani Jaitasariya and renamed it "Bidasar" after himself. He laid the foundation of the village, constructed the fort and established the Charbhuja temple.

With the passage of time, the town progressed through the efforts of its worthy sons. The development of education, healthcare, electricity, transportation, water supply, industry, agriculture, employment and economic prosperity was shaped by the selfless service and humanitarian efforts of forefathers and present residents.

Every resident contributed to this journey in one way or another. The following account records some of the noble deeds of the great families, individuals and charitable trusts that played an important role in the development of Bidasar.

The Shri Nathmal Ji Tantia family made one of the most significant contributions to Bidasar's development, with its efforts continuing across generations.

Famine Relief

During the famine of 1924, Shri Ganpat Ram Ji stayed in Bidasar to serve cattle and cows. He donated ₹2 lakh to the Bidasar Gaushala, arranged fodder at a low price and obtained government assistance. Water was also brought from Sandwa and distributed.

Funeral Service

The family provided free firewood and constructed facilities for funeral services, including wood storage, rooms, two rest houses, verandas and sheds donated to the Sanatan Dharma Sabha. A funeral material shop was later established where materials were made available at cost.

Large Hospital

The late Shri Govardhan Prasad Tantia Hospital was inspired by Ganpat Ramji Tantia and supported through the dedicated work of Ishwari Prasad Ji Tantia. Located on the Bidasar–Bikaner road, it serves Bidasar as well as surrounding rural populations and now functions as a Government Rajasthan Community Health Centre.

Other Contributions

The family also contributed a science classroom and laboratory at Sethia High School, a sweet-water facility at Gandhi Chowk, a free homeopathic dispensary and a hostel at Kanoriya Vidya Peeth / Kanoriya Shikshan Sansthan.

Further contributions included support for a tuberculosis hospital at Sarwali village, where poor patients were treated free of cost, and a veterinary hospital that was eventually constructed and handed over to the government.

In recent years this family has made most significant contribution to the development of Bidasar. The contributions include a guest house for SC/OBC persons for social functions and significant renovation work at Terapanth Bhawan. Jeet Mal Ji contributed huge amount of ₹6 crores towards the renovation, which included AC rooms on the first floor, a larger pillar-free pandal and a lift.

Shri Dawrika Prasad Tantia & Family

In recent times this family has also made significant contribution to the development of Bidasar which among others incudes A grand Shree Ram Mandir is under construction, intended to serve the spiritual needs of the community and potentially become an attraction for visitors. The family has also contributed a large international-standard sports complex with facilities and coaches. Players from Bidasar and nearby areas have gone on to compete at district and state levels, with some reaching national competition.

Shri Jethmal Jiw Raj Sekhani

Education has been a major focus of the Shri Jethmal Jiwraj Charitable Trust. Beginning in 1995 with four rooms and 17 students, the initiative has grown to four schools serving around 1,200 students across approximately 18,000 square yards.

The trust has a further goal of establishing a college. Its schools are managed by Vidya Bharati ( a Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh organisation) to provide high quality education at Bidasar. A coaching centre and library named after Smt. Rewanti Devi Sekhani also serve around 200 students. Two "Ekta Dwar" gateways have been established on the Sikar–Bikaner highway.

JM Sethia Charitable Trust

Under the banner "SHREE SEVA, BIDASAR\:KOLKATA", the JM Sethia Charitable Trust has supported numerous community initiatives.

Its water pyaus have been established at locations including Shree Sain Mandir, Naya Roadways Bus Stand, Shree Shiv Mandir, Purana Nagarpalika Road, Rathor Mohalla, Shree Salasar Balaji Mandir, Valmiki Basti, Mehrada Baas, NekNagar and near SBI.

Educational scholarships have benefited 8,571 students from needy families. The trust has also supported gaushalas with feed storage, iron sheds, gates and open feed facilities at Shree Ganesh Gaushala on Dungargarh Road and Shiv Krishan Gaushala on Sandawa Road.

Other work includes complete upgradation and makeover of Mukti Dham including reconstruction of the structure and Shed, Iron structure of Boundary wall of the garden, Waiting Area in front of Terapanthi Pariwar Daah-Sanskar Sthal and Passage of Charitra Atma Samadhi Sthal during covid time in the year 2019.

The family has built a community hall in memory of Late Moti Lal Ji Sethia at Oswal Panchayati Bhawan, undertaken repairs and painting at Ramdev Ji Mandir at Gangouri Chowk, and sound-system facilities at Ramdev Ji Mandir in Dhanawato Ka Mohalla.

Shri Fateh Chand Ji Jalan

The development story also records the contribution of Shri Fateh Chand Ji Jalan. His efforts included the construction of a boundary wall around the cremation ground and support for Bidasar Gaushala.

The development of Kashipur Dham on the Bidasar–Dungar road, including a Balaji temple and surrounding greenery, is also associated with these efforts.

Other Families & Individuals

Many other families and individuals contributed to Bidasar's development. These includes

Shri Kaluram Ganeshdas Ji Tantia established a dharamshala on the main route and supported bhandaras.

Shri Khinvkaran Doshi contributed to the renovation of Ramdev Ji Temple at Ganagauri Chowk and restoration of other places.

Shri Devkaran Das Likhmichand contributed a dharamshala at Ganagauri Chowk.

Shri Bhikhamchand Banthia contributed towards a school building on the main road.

Shri Ghamnadi Ramji Nahata provided land for the tehsil building and sub-tehsil.

Shri Hanuman Mal Ji Sekhani contributed to Shishu Vatika school, while Shri Manek Chandji Chordia helped modernise the girls' school.

Shri Hanuman Mal Bengani donated a medical oxygen plant at Tantia Hospital during Covid, with capacity intended to serve Bidasar and adjacent areas. The Bhanwal Mata Educational Charitable Trust run by this family also provides scholarships for needy students from Bidasar Tehsil pursuing higher education in engineering, medicine and other field.
